HE IS FROM, UM, PARK HILL, AND THEY WERE THE FIRM THAT WAS HIRED BEFORE THE FIVE OF US WHO ARE ON THIS COURT, UM, TO START THIS PROJECT. SO TAKE IT AWAY, SAL. YEP. GOOD AFTERNOON. IT'S, UH, DIFFERENT. I'M USUALLY HERE IN THE MORNING, SO, UM, HOPEFULLY EVERYBODY HAD THEIR LUNCH AND WON'T FALL ASLEEP DURING THIS PRESENTATION. UM, SO WE'LL START OFF, I JUST WANNA GIVE Y AN OVERALL OF THE FLOOR PLAN, UH, OF THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, INCLUDING THE, THE NEW JAIL. UM, SO TO ORIENT YOURSELF, WE'VE GOT THE ROAD KIND OF ON THE RIGHT SIDE, UH, RIGHT HERE. UH, AND THIS IS YOUR DRIVE IN. SO OUR AREA, SPECIFICALLY OF, OF RENOVATION IS KIND OF HIGHLIGHTED HERE IN THE PINK. NOT ALL OF THAT AREA IS GONNA BE TOUCHED ACTUALLY, BUT AS YOU CAN TELL, IT'S A SMALLER PIECE OF THE OVERALL JAIL. UM, WHAT YOU SEE KIND OF HERE THAT'S A LITTLE BIT MORE CLEAR, THIS IS THE NEW JAIL, NEWER JAIL EXPANSION. AND THIS IS PART OF THE, UH, THE OLDER VERSION OF THE JAIL. THERE'S ALSO ANOTHER, UH, POD OVER HERE ON THE FAR WEST SIDE, UM, THAT WE'RE NOT DOING ANY WORK TO AT ALL AS WELL. UM, AND THEN KEEPING THIS SECURE CORRIDOR KIND OF IN THE MIDDLE SECURE AS WELL. SO, AGAIN, NONE OF THAT IS REALLY IN OUR SCOPE, BUT THE AREA IN PINK THERE IS WHAT YOU SEE IS REALLY, UM, WHAT WE FOCUSED IN ON AS PART OF THIS RENOVATION. UM, SO WE'LL START AT THE TOP. I GOT AN ABBREVIATED, UH, PDF OF OUR ENTIRE GMP SET. SO I TOOK US DOWN FROM LIKE 70 SHEETS DOWN TO ABOUT 30 SHEETS. WE DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL OF 'EM, BUT I DO HAVE MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, UM, LOW VOLTAGE, A VIT INTERIOR DESIGN ARCHITECTURE ALL IN HERE. UM, AGAIN, WE DON'T NEED TO GO THROUGH SHEET BY SHEET, UM, BUT I'M GONNA KIND OF HIT SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS. THIS IS AN OVERALL, WE ARE OUR OCCUPANT LO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION IS SPLIT UP INTO TWO DIFFERENT AREAS, WHICH IS BUSINESS, UH, AND A, WHICH IS ASSEMBLY. UH, SO WHAT YOU SEE IN THE GREEN ARE CONSIDERED ASSEMBLY SPACES. THE RED HATCH IS CONSIDERED B BUSINESS OCCUPANT. UM, THIS ALSO GIVES YOU A BETTER IDEA OF EXACTLY WHERE IN THAT PINK AREA THAT WE'RE DOING WORK TO. UM, SO IT'S PRIMARILY EVERYTHING THAT'S KIND OF ON THE SOUTH SIDE, AND THEN A SMALL LITTLE PORTION UP THERE NEAR THE OLD SALLY PORT AS WELL. AND THAT'S REALLY JUST FOR A RENOVATION OF RESTROOMS TO HELP SUPPORT THE TRAINING THAT GOES ON IN THE SALLY PORT OR THE OLD SALLY PORT AREA. EVERYTHING ELSE ON THE SOUTH SIDE, UM, IS AGAIN, KIND OF BEING, IS ALMOST ALL BEING COMPLETELY, UM, PULLED OUT AND REDONE EXCEPT FOR THE OLD SOUTH PART, WHICH IS DOWN THIS CORRIDOR RIGHT HERE. MOST OF THIS IS CONCRETE WALL, UH, EXISTING AND CONCRETE CEILING. SO WE'RE GONNA BE MINIMIZING OUR, UH, DEMOLITION AND, AND RENOVATION IN THERE AND INSTEAD TRYING TO REPURPOSE AS MUCH AS WE CAN AND SELECTIVELY DEMO WHERE IT MAKES SENSE, UH, TO FIT THE PROGRAM THAT THE SHERIFF NEEDS. UH, INSIDE EVERYTHING OVER HERE ON THE TOP SIDE, THIS IS NOT CONCRETE WALL OR CEILING. THIS IS ALL WHAT WE CALL TRADITIONAL CONSTRUCTION. IT'S, UH, STUD METAL STUDS WITH GBOARD. THAT'S GONNA BE A LOT EASIER TO DEMO OUT AND WON'T IMPACT THE STRUCTURAL, UM, ANY, ANY KIND OF STRUCTURAL THAT WE HAVE ON THE, UH, IN THE BUILDING. UM, SO THERE WAS A COUPLE, UH, POST COLUMNS. THEY'RE VERY, VERY SMALL AND MINIMAL. WE'VE TRIED TO HIDE THOSE THROUGHOUT THE, UH, THE PLANS WHERE YOU STILL CAN'T SEE 'EM, HOW THEY CURRENTLY ARE, BUT WE'LL DIVE INTO THAT A LITTLE BIT ON THE FLOOR PLAN. UM, THIS IS JUST MORE CODE INFORMATION. UM, SO THIS KIND OF TELLS YOU OCCUPANT COUNTS, PLUMBING COUNTS, UM, BREAKS UP A LITTLE BIT MORE INTO ACTUAL FIRE RATINGS. UM, AND SO THIS IS WHAT GETS SENT TO BUREAU VERITAS FOR, UH, FOR INSPECTIONS. UH, JUST A SECOND. SO JUST, I'M, I'M SLOW. UM, ARE, WE'RE NOT DOING AN EXPANSION THERE, THERE IS A SMALL BIT OF EXPANSION, WHICH IS AN, A NEW STOREFRONT, A NEW GLASS WALL THAT'S GOING UNDER AN EXISTING SOFFIT. SO THAT'S THE ONLY EXPANSION THAT'S GOING ON. YOU'RE GAINING A LITTLE BIT OF SQUARE FOOTAGE, BUT IT'S UNDER AN EXISTING SOFFIT, SO THERE'S NO NEW CONSTRUCTION GOING IN THERE. OKAY. IT'S SIMPLY JUST A, A GLASS CURTAIN AND EX THE REASON THAT WE'VE CALLED IT AN EXPANSION IS 'CAUSE WE'RE GOING INTO AN OLD OFFLINE JAIL. CAN YOU CIRCLE THIS AREA RIGHT HERE? THIS, ALL THIS AREA ON THIS SIDE IS ESSENTIALLY NOT IN USE RIGHT NOW ON THE LEFT SIDE OF, OF THE PLANT, IS THAT WHAT WE CALL THE WEST WING? IT'S O SOUTH WEST WING. I'VE, I'VE HEARD SEVERAL DIFFERENT NAMES FOR IT, BUT IT'S ALL THE CONCRETE AREA DOWN THAT LONG CORRIDOR THAT YOU NEVER SEE OR GO INTO UNLESS YOU REALLY NEED TO BE DOWN THERE. SO IT'S TECHNICALLY NOT AN EXPANSION OF THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING, IT'S JUST EXPANSION OF, UH, USING AN UNUSED PORTION. CORRECT. YES. AND THE LITTLE BIT ON UNDER THE SOFFIT IS REALLY A, YEAH, THERE, THERE'S NO FLOOR FLOOR PLAN EXPANSION. YOUR, YOUR FLOOR PLATE IS STAYING THE EXACT SAME. ALRIGHT, THANK YOU. UM, BUT, BUT THE SHORT OF IT THAT YOU CAN SEE IS EVERYTHING THAT'S KIND OF HIGHLIGHTED IN RED IS WHAT'S GONNA BE DEMOLISHED, UH, FROM, FROM THE FLOOR PLAN. SO AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE'S A LOT OF RED WALLS, A LOT OF NOTES ON THIS SIDE. WE HAVE A LOT OF PLUMBING FIXTURES THAT ARE BEING REMOVED. UM, AND THEN ON THIS SIDE, WE'RE REALLY JUST REMOVING EQUIPMENT AND A SELECT AMOUNT OF WALLS, BUT YOU SEE A LOT MORE KIND OF BLACK WALLS IN THERE. AND THOSE MEAN THOSE WALLS ARE GONNA, UH, THEY'RE GONNA REMAIN. UM, AND WE'RE GONNA REPURPOSE THAT SPACE, REFINISH IT OUT FOR A NEW PURPOSE. UH, FOR, FOR THE SHARES PROGRAM. SAL, HOW, HOW MANY PHASES DO YOU PROJECT THAT DEMO GOING IN? SO WE'RE, WE'RE PROJECTING WITH THE CONTRACTOR ABOUT THREE PHASES TOTAL, KIND OF A ONE A ONE B, AND THEN A PHASE TWO. UM, SO THE, THE DEMO WOULD REALLY KIND OF, IT WOULD START HERE ON THE SOUTH AREA. AND THEN PART OF THE TOP WHERE YOU HAVE THE LOBBY, SO WE'RE TALKING ABOUT, UM, OUR VISITATION AREA HERE AND ANY DEMO DEMOLITION NEEDED IN THE LOBBY. THAT'S KIND OF PHASE ONE A. UM, PHASE ONE B WOULD BE THE, THE CONSTRUCTION OF THAT. UM, WHICH WOULD ALSO INCLUDE, UH, STARTING TO MOVE THE, UH, THE DISPATCH CENTER OVER TO THE CURRENT EOC, WHICH IS A KIND OF A, A LARGER CONFERENCE ROOM. UM, SO WE'RE DOING THAT BECAUSE THEY NEED TO BE, UH, AT A SPOT AND WE RENOVATE THEIR AREA. WE WANT IT TO BE DONE ONCE, SO WE'RE GONNA MOVE THEM IN ONE PHASE AND THEN THEY'LL BE MOVED BACK WHEN THEIR AREA'S READY AND COMPLETE. SO THAT WILL ALSO BE PART OF THAT KINDA THAT FIRST PHASE IS THE, THE DISPATCH AREA SPECIFICALLY. SO THEY'LL BE MOVED OVER, THAT'S ONE A, ONE B IS ACTUALLY GETTING THE WORK DONE. AND THEN IN PHASE TWO THEY'LL KIND OF FLIP FLOP AND GO BACK INTO THEIR SPACE. OKAY. THAT'S AT LEAST THE PLAN FROM THE, WITH THE CONTRACTOR RIGHT NOW. GOT IT. UH, THE ONE THING TO NOTE IS THAT WE DO HAVE SOME OLD NON-COMPLIANT RESTROOMS BASED OFF OF TDLR. UM, THAT WAS FROM THE 2001, 2002 VERSION, UH, OF, OF THE TEXAS ACCESS ACCESSIBILITY STANDARDS. UM, WE ARE NOW UNDER 2012, SO THOSE HAVE BEEN OUTDATED, BUT THERE IS A PROVISION, IF WE LEAVE THOSE BATHROOM FIXTURES ALONE, WE DON'T HAVE TO TO MOVE THEM 'CAUSE THEY WOULD, THEY'RE NOT COMPLIANT. THE SPACE IS NOT ENOUGH RIGHT NOW. SO WE ARE LEAVING THOSE BATH BATHROOM FIXTURES AS IS. UM, AND THEN WE'RE JUST GONNA GO BACK WITH AND REFINISH THOSE BATHROOMS. 'CAUSE IF THERE'S ANYTHING DONE TO THEM, IT DOES TRIGGER, UH, TDLR TO MAKE US COM MAKE, MAKE THE BATHROOMS COMPLETELY, UH, UPGRADED. WELL, ARE THEY ADEQUATE? YES. YES. SO THERE, THERE ARE OTHER PUBLIC RESTROOMS IN THERE. THERE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THREE OR FOUR SINGLE USER RESTROOMS, UM, THAT ARE JUST KIND OF, UM, OKAY. THROUGHOUT THE PLAN. UM, THEY'RE ADEQUATE, THEY'RE STILL COMPLIANT. UM, YOU'RE REGISTERED ACCESSIBILITY SPECIALIST, WE CALL 'EM RAS. THEY WILL REVIEW THAT AND SEE THAT AS WELL. UM, AND WE'LL, WE'RE DOING A, A REVIEW RIGHT NOW WITH THE ACCESSIBILITY SPECIALIST AS WELL. SO THEY'RE GONNA GIVE US A DOUBLE CHECK. WE'RE GONNA MAKE SURE WE'RE OKAY. UM, THEY ARE ADEQUATE. THEY'RE JUST SMALLER THAN WHAT THE CURRENT STANDARD IS AND THEY'RE A DA COMPLIANT TOO. SO, SO A DA AND, UH, TEXAS ACCESSIBILITY SPECIAL, UH, STANDARDS, UM, BOTH KIND OF, THEY KIND OF WORK TOGETHER. MOST OF THEM ARE THE SAME. UH, BUT THERE ARE SOME, SOME SPECIAL, SOME DIFFERENCES THERE. UH, IN TEXAS WE ARE KIND OF GOVERNED BY TOSS, SO THAT'S WHAT OUR FIRST, THAT'S WHERE OUR LICENSE GOES THROUGH. SO THAT'S WHERE OUR FIRST POINT OF, UM, COMPLIANCE COMES FROM. ANYTHING ELSE ON DEMOLITION? OKAY. UM, WE'RE GONNA GO NEXT TO CEILINGS. SO AS YOU CAN SEE, WE'RE PRETTY MUCH DEMOING ALL THE CEILINGS ON THE NEW SIDE. UM, THAT'S WHAT WE SEE HERE IN THE RED ON THE LEFT SIDE, THAT'S JUST SHOWING LIGHT FIXTURES. WE'RE GONNA BE REPLACING ALL OF THE LIGHT FIXTURES IN THE CURRENT CONCRETE CEILINGS, BUT WE'RE NOT GONNA BE DEMOING OUT ALMOST ANY OF THAT. UM, JUST AS NEEDED TO REMOVE A WALL AND THEN THAT'LL BE PATCHED, UM, GETTING NEW GRID OR USING NEW, NEW GRID AND TILE BOW. SO WE WERE GONNA TRY TO SAVE AS MUCH AS WE COULD. WE GOT DOWN TO IT AND WE WERE, WE WERE LOOKING ABOUT, YOU KNOW, 800 SQUARE FEET MAYBE THAT WE WERE GONNA SAVE. SO IT WAS ACTUALLY NOT A BIG ADD TO GO AHEAD AND GET THAT GRID AND, AND TILE REPLACE AS WELL. SO, UM, THIS IS ALMOST ALL OF IT IS FROM NECESSITY BECAUSE WE HAVE WALLS MOVING. SOME OF IT IS NOT, BUT WE'RE GONNA GO AHEAD AND LIKE I SAID, BRING THAT UP TO THE REST OF THE BUILDING. OKAY. NEW FLOOR PLAN. I'M GONNA ZOOM IN ON THIS A LITTLE BIT. UM, SO ONE THING TO NOTE THAT I HAVE NOT SAID YET IS THAT WE DO HAVE TWO OVERHEAD METAL CANOPIES ALSO IN THE PROJECT AS WELL. SO, UM, THESE ARE KIND OF PULLED OUT AS, UM, AS BID ALTERNATES. UM, SO THE CONTRACTOR, THE SUBCONTRACTORS WILL BID THESE SEPARATELY AND IT WON'T BE KIND OF TACKED ONTO THE GMP. UM, IT'LL BE AS A, AS IF YOU CHOOSE TO SELECT THEM BASIS, ESSENTIALLY. SO THIS IS YOUR OVERHEAD METAL CANOPY IN THE BACK. SO THIS IS REALLY GONNA BE USED FOR, FOR PARKING IN SHADE WHENEVER THEY'RE DOING ANY TRAINING INSIDE OF THE, UM, THE OLD SALLY PORT AREA RIGHT HERE. AND THEN THERE IS A SECOND ONE, OOPS, THERE IS A SECOND ONE AT THE KIND OF SIDE ENTRANCE. AND THIS IS REALLY FOR THE WALKWAY, FOR THE, THE SHERIFF'S, UH, DEPUTIES AND, AND STAFF TO BE ABLE TO WALK TO AND FROM THE PARKING LOT BACK THERE AND BE COVERED. THOSE ARE BOTH AS BID ALTERNATES. AND THEN IN ORDER TO ENTER THIS DOOR RIGHT HERE, UH, THEY WILL NEED TO EITHER BE BUZZED IN OR HAVE SOMEBODY COME LET THEM IN, UH, TO THE REST OF THE OFFICE. UH, HERE ON THE LEFT SIDE, WE HAVE THE, UM, UH, THE EOC OFFICES. UH, SO WE'VE GOT ONE DEDICATED OFFICE AND SPACE HERE FOR POTENTIALLY THREE WORKSTATIONS. UM, AND THEN ON THE BACKSIDE OF THAT, WE HAVE A COFFEE BAR THAT'S KIND OF OPEN TO WHAT YOUR NEW LOBBY CIRCULATION AREA IS GONNA BE. THESE ARE THE TWO RESTROOMS, TWO OF THE RESTROOMS I WAS SAYING, AND THIS ONE RIGHT HERE AS WELL. UM, THAT ARE GONNA HAVE TO STAY AS IS. UH, WITH THE FIXTURES, WE CAN'T REPLACE THOSE FIXTURES, BUT WE CAN REPLACE THE FINISHES. UM, SO THIS RESTROOM RIGHT HERE AND THESE TWO RIGHT HERE ARE THE ONES THAT ARE GONNA STAY. UM, AS YOU COME AROUND THE CORNER, THERE IS A, UH, WHERE REPORTING ROOM, UH, THIS IS FOR WALK-IN REPORTERS FOR THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT TO BE ABLE TO WALK IN, SAY I REPORTED A CRIME, I NEED TO PUT A STATEMENT DOWN AND THEY CAN TAKE THEM BACK TO THIS ROOM, UH, IN ORDER FOR THEM TO, TO HAVE A SPOT TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT. OKAY, WE'RE GONNA MOVE ON TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PLAN. THIS IS YOUR NEW, UH, EOC AND TRAINING ROOM MIX. UH, THERE IS AN OPERABLE PARTITION RIGHT HERE. SO IT'S KIND OF A FOLDING WALL, UM, THAT WILL KIND OF PULL IN AND OUT AS NEEDED. THE EOC IN THE TRAINING ROOM, BOTH YOU'RE GONNA HAVE MIRRORED, UH, AV CAPABILITIES. SO IF YOU'VE BEEN IN THE CURRENT EOC, THERE'S SIX BIG SCREENS ON A WALL. UM, THOSE SIX SCREENS ARE GONNA STILL BE HERE ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE TRAINING ROOM, AND THEY'RE ALSO GONNA BE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE EOC. SO THE CONNECTIVITY'S THE SAME. UM, IF THEY JUST NEED THE EOC FOR THE SMALLER LEVEL, UH, EMERGENCIES, UH, THEY CAN HAVE IT CLOSED AND STILL HAVE TRAINING. IF THE TRAINING NEEDS TO BE CANCELED, YOU CAN OPEN IT UP TO A LARGER EOC AND HAVE MORE, UH, STAFF AVAILABLE, UH, TO BE IN THAT AREA. OOPS, SORRY. OKAY, WE'RE GONNA MOVE ON DOWN RIGHT HERE, WHICH IS YOUR, UM, SOME OF YOUR DETECTIVES.
